KU honors workers’ service, performance

Kansas University honored workers for their service and performance during the 24th annual Employee Recognition Ceremony, conducted May 7 in the ballroom at the Kansas Union.

Among employees recognized for their service: Robert C. Umholtz, associate chair of mechanical engineering, 55 years; and William O. Scott, a professor of English, 50 years.

Annie Rajaei, senior administrative associate for Parking and Transit, won the 2007-2008 Support Staff Employee of the Year Award. Employees of the Month among support staffers were Penny Fritts, Amy Pabst, Jama Lickteig, Jan Emerson, Terri Osborn, Michael Sinclair, Karen Hummel, Pamela Morris, Rajaei, Justin Lohrmeyer, Kenneth Blackwell and Rae Ann Brown.

Leah Luckeroth, a student health services physician at Watkins Memorial Health Center, won the 2007-2008 Unclassified Non-Teaching Employee of the Year Award. Employees of the month among unclassified nonteaching personnel were Luckeroth, Pam Willits, Teresa Pepper, Janet Lukehart, Paul Farran, Teri Varuska, Kathleen Mason, Juan Izaguirre Pena, Anne Madden Johnson, Elizabeth Pesek-Shields, Brenda Maigaard and Patricia Weaver.
