Attorney to speak about property rights

Pacific Legal Foundation attorney Timothy Sandefur will speak on property rights at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dole Institute of Politics.

The presentation is sponsored by the Kansas chapter of Americans for Prosperity, a group that opposes tax increases. The event is free and open to the public.

Pacific Legal Foundation advocates for limited government, property rights and individual rights.

Recently, it criticized the federal government’s decision to list the polar bear under the Endangered Species Act, saying the designation could impose severe restrictions on land use.

Sandefur will be talking about the 2005 U.S. Supreme Court decision that allowed the condemnation of private property for economic development.
