Response lauded

To the editor:

Friday night, my 13-month-old daughter and I were in a head-on collision on Crestline near the Lied Center. I would like to thank the many wonderful people who stopped to help us; I looked up and there were people all around helping to make sure we were OK.

Kansas University Police and the Lawrence-Douglas County medics arrived (who were also fantastic!), and the group of people soon left and I didn’t get a chance to thank them. I hope that some of them read this letter and know how grateful I am that they stopped to help us.

The medic that helped us was so calm and reassuring and I would also like to thank him, but I don’t remember his name. I hope he reads this as well.

Lastly, the KU police were great and even called me later in the evening to tell me that they had found my wedding ring in the car and returned it.

My daughter is fine (thanks to an excellent car seat!) and I suffered a shattered elbow but will be OK. I just wanted the people who helped us to know how appreciative I am.
