Douglas County Bank’s fourth annual Shred Day is set for 9 a.m. until noon Saturday at the bank’s parking lot at Ninth and Kentucky streets.
The bank and its shred provider, Jayhawk File Express, will accept up to 200 pounds of old documents — that’s enough to fill about five average-sized file boxes — from each household for free, secure shredding.
Information about how long to retain certain financial records also may be obtained at Douglas County bank locations.
Jayhawk File Express is one of two Kansas shredding operators certified by the National Association of Information Destruction.
For more information about the event, contact Jill Giele, 865-1049.
