Boring justice

To the editor:

Last Wednesday, I drove across town to attend the speech by Chief Justice Roberts at the Lied Center. It consisted of 45 excruciating minutes of his reading an article, obviously written by a bored law clerk, on the Louisiana Purchase.

I had really hoped that he would address a timely, hot-button issue of interest to us all, such as the War of 1812.

I wish I had my gallon of gas back.

Crossfire:Nothing shows class like insulting people for their uncontrollable health problems. One of my friends (Democrat) went to Harvard Law with Roberts, and was actually his roomate. He said that Justice Roberts is really a class act.As for the "brain damaged" comment:National Merit Scholar (1973)A.B. Summae Cum Laude, Harvard (1976)J.D. Magna Cum Laude, Harvard (1979)

Crossfire - You can only wish that you had half of the intellect of Chief Justice John Roberts.
