OPEC changes

To the editor:

In times past, OPEC, especially Saudi Arabia, has been willing to increase oil output to accommodate the United States. Currently they are saying there is enough oil on the world market. I’d bet that OPEC’s unwillingness to pump more oil is an expression of their dislike for many of the Bush administration’s foreign policies, and they are aware that higher gas prices result in angry voters. George Bush can’t get his “friends” to pump more oil when he needs it. Now he is blaming Congress for not acting. Not his fault, of course.

When a new administration is in office in 2009, see if OPEC changes course and decides more oil for the world market is the correct course of action
