Kappa Kappa Psi, a Kansas University fraternity, wants to encourage Lawrence children to learn about music.

Between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, the fraternity will play host to a free music carnival at Murphy Hall, 1530 Naismith Drive.

Children will hear performances featuring a tuba soloist and trumpet quintet.

There will also be an opportunity to put on a marching band uniform and have a photo taken. Other features include games and prizes.
