Law enforcement report

¢ A single family residence was destroyed in a fire Saturday in Franklin County. Lincoln, Ottawa and Harrison township fire departments responded to the fire in the 3900 block of Louisiana Road about 9:21 a.m. The residence is just west of Ottawa city limits. According to Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, the cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation. The damages were considered a total loss. No injuries were reported.

Injury accidents

¢ Four people were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for injuries after a two-vehicle accident on the Kansas Highway 10 bypass just west of Lawrence on Saturday afternoon. According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, a 1992 Ford pickup truck was driving eastbound on the bypass about 2:40 p.m. The truck was driven by Steven Mott, 50, of Topeka. Kelly Susan Perkins, 46, Topeka, was a passenger in the truck. According to the report, a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr driven by Paul F. Mages, 63, Tecumseh, attempted to make a U-turn in front of the truck from the U.S. Highway 40 on-ramp to K-10. The truck struck the left side of the Lincoln. Ann Albers, 65, Tecumseh, was a passenger in the Lincoln. An air ambulance was called, but was canceled en route. Everyone was treated and released from the hospital Saturday.

Condition reports

¢ Daniel Perkins, 17, who was badly injured in a two-vehicle accident Friday morning on Kansas Highway 32 near the exit to Kansas Highway 7, was listed in critical but stable condition at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. No information was available about the extent of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Chad Way, 18, was listed in good condition at Kansas University Hospital.
