Small increase
To the editor:
The school board’s local option budget election would increase one’s taxes about $14 a year. Most people pay twice that per month for their cable TV.
What an example that when everyone contributes a little bit, a lot of good can be done. Teachers and public schools are dealing with problems and situations that didn’t even exist in our society 20 years ago.
Both short-term and in the long run, voting “yes” for this small tax increase benefits students. And remember: These students are, and will be, funding our Social Security.
Let’s give them all the help we can. Vote “yes” on Tuesday.
