LHS soccer blanks Salina South, 1-0

MCPHERSON Junior midfielder Becky Davis scored at 6:16 of second half off an assist from sophomore striker Olivia Dykes, and Lawrence High's girls soccer team defeated Salina South, 1-0, on Friday in the McPherson Invitational semifinals.
The Lions' Jordan Payne blanked Salina South in goal during the first half, and Emma Lumpe blanked South in the second half.
Lawrence High (2-0) will play Hays or McPherson at 6 tonight in the championship match. The Lions defeated Newton in the tournament opener Tuesday.
