Talk of the Town to address election

The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce’s Government and Community Affairs Committee will present a Talk of the Town session at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Lawrence Public Library.

The discussion topic: the Lawrence school district’s upcoming Local Option Budget election.

Dale Dennis, the state’s deputy commissioner of education, will discuss the budget process and explain the state government’s perspective regarding such financing.

Randy Weseman, superintendent of Lawrence public schools, will address how the Local Option Budget fits into the Lawrence community.

People in the audience will be invited to ask questions.

Talk of the Town sessions are open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
