Just after my recent trip to Lawrence from my home in Austin, Texas, you ran the fascinating story titled “Stuck in time” that featured my friend Dennis Domer sharing his thoughts about Lawrence’s built environment, pro and con.

When in Lawrence I am always struck by the straight-forward beauty of your town. Walking down Mass. Street from one end to the other is a fine urban experience and I commend you for giving space to someone as committed and knowledgeable as Professor Domer, whose comments surely do not please everyone in town, but whose smart approach to slowly adding quality buildings to what you already have only makes sense.

Keep up the good work.

P.S. I am looking forward to a KU-Texas game in the Final Four!
