Jerry Waugh to receive Community Cornerstone
Jerry Waugh is winner of CornerBank’s Community Cornerstone award for March.
Waugh will receive the award during a public celebration at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the bank, 4621 W. Sixth St. The bank will donate $100 on his behalf to the Cottonwood Foundation.
The awards program recognizes volunteers whose efforts help build strong communities.
Waugh has been a volunteer at Cottonwood, having served on its board and as director for the Kansas Open golf tournament, which benefits Cottonwood. He also is a deacon at Plymouth Congregational Church.
Waugh teaches golf for area youth programs and serves as a volunteer rules official for high school, college and amateur golf events. He has served as president and as a board member for the Kansas Golf Association.
