Altrusa International Inc. of Lawrence, an organization of business and professional women whose members are committed to community service, is offering a scholarship to assist women in achieving their career goals and financial independence.

Special consideration will be given to career re-entry and late career entry candidates. The money may be used for books, tuition, transportation and/or child care.

A $500 scholarship will be presented in May during an Altrusa meeting.

To qualify for this scholarship, an applicant must:

¢ Be enrolled in or accepted by an academic or career training program.

¢ Be working toward a career goal.

¢ Demonstrate financial need.

¢ Be recommended by an instructor/faculty member.

¢ Live in Lawrence or Douglas County.
