Lawrence High boys lose state championship game
Emporia ? The No. 8-seeded Lawrence High boys basketball team lost, 88-67, in the Class 6A state championship game Saturday afternoon to second-seeded Wichita Southeast.
The Golden Buffaloes led just 41-34 at halftime, but soon turned it into a rout.
Dorian Green led the Lions with 24 points and senior John Schneider – in his final game in an LHS uniform – scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Five different players scored in double figures for Southeast, which finished its season at 23-2.
Lawrence fell to 13-12.
Earlier today, the Lions girls team won the state championship, defeating Goddard 54-52.
