Lawrence resident earns appointment
Kathy Greenlee, Lawrence, and Jane Carter, Topeka, have been appointed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to the State Employee Pay Plan Oversight Committee, which works to ensure fair wages for public employees.
“This year we worked together to bring state employee pay up to market level – previously some employees were earning 45 percent less than similar jobs in other states,” Sebelius said. “This committee will help make sure Kansas doesn’t fall behind again.”
Greenlee has been the state’s secretary of aging since 2006, overseeing a staff committed to improving the security, dignity and independence of Kansas seniors. She also participates on the Heath and Human Services Cabinet Team, the Kansas Health Policy Authority Board of Directors and the Workforce Network of Kansas Board.
Carter is executive director of the Kansas Organization of State Employees, which represents more than 10,000 state employees. Carter also is a strategic analyst for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.
