Harry W. Stone, Jr., 40, of Lawrence, has been identified as the man who died in a motorcycle crash Friday near Lone Star Lake.
The accident occurred at 6:02 p.m. just north of Lone Star Lake on County Road 1. Douglas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Lt. Kari Wempe said the accident involved a single motorcycle.
Witnesses told deputies Stone was driving north on County Road 1 when he lost control on a curve. The motorcycle went off the road and the driver suffered fatal injuries.
Sheriff's deputies blocked about a half-mile section of County Road 1 from the north side of the lake to County Road 10 while they worked the accident.
