Gore ties

To the editor:

Al Gore has finally endorsed Barack Obama! They spoke many flattering words about each other, complete with John F. Kennedy references.

Now, here comes the real payoff for Al Gore, as he hopes to maneuver his way back into Washington, D.C., and push global warming and all of its inevitable new policies and regulations onto the fast-track. Obama said in his June 16 rally speech, “and when I am president I will be counting on Al Gore to help me lead the fight to achieve for a clean energy future here in America and around the globe.”

Al Gore is co-founder of Generation Investment Management, which specializes in environmental research and how it relates to corporate governance and regulation. Al Gore is also a partner in a Silicon Valley firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a “green growth” company which has partnered with GIM. These two companies combined are worth more than $1 billion.

There is too much to write about this complex issue in a simple letter to the editor, so the rest of this story you can figure out on your own and make your own decision in the voting booth.
