Kansas Department of Transportation to temporarily close K-7/K-10 interchange in Johnson County Saturday

The Kansas Department of Transportation is temporarily closing a ramp Saturday at the Kansas Highway 7 and K-10 interchange in Johnson County.

The ramp will be closed for resurfacing work beginning at 7 a.m. Work is expected to be completed by late that afternoon.

Each K-7/K-10 interchange ramp will close for approximately one hour while resurfacing work is completed on the ramp. Marked detours will be provided.

The department advised drivers to expect some minor delays.

Updated daily lane/ramp closure information for this resurfacing project is available online at www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.

This work is part of a $1.8 million resurfacing project that began in early June on K-10 from the Douglas/Johnson County line to just east of K-7, and on K-7 just north and south of K-10 to smooth the road, fill cracks and prevent skidding during wet weather. Also, new pavement markings will be applied to the entire resurfaced portion of K-10 and K-7.

The entire project is expected to be complete mid-summer.
