Hilary Brown, owner of Local Burger, Lawrence, recently served as a panelist at the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies conference this month in Boston.

The alliance is a network of 15,000 entrepreneurs and small business leaders working together to build and promote local economies as what it considers to be a new economic paradigm.

Brown was one of four entrepreneurs invited to speak on a panel moderated by Paul Saginaw, of Zingerman's Community of Businesses. Panelists shared their experiences in tackling challenges in their business sectors and communities, and how to build businesses that "do good while doing well."

Brown is a member of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce's Grow Green Task Force, which is working to help Lawrence become a sustainable community.
