The orange and white barricades are back up in downtown Lawrence, as city contractors on Monday began repaving a second stretch of Massachusetts Street.

The street is shut down from North Park Street to 10th Street, and will be closed the rest of the workweek.

Crews are repaving Massachusetts Street from Sixth Street to North Park, in two-block sections.

Work between Sixth and Eighth streets wrapped up last week. Massachusetts will be repaved from Eighth Street to 10th Street next week.

Once construction on Massachusetts Street is completed, city contractors will begin paving Seventh Street from Vermont to New York streets and Kentucky from Sixth Street to 12th Street, a city news release said.

Lawrence used to be fast at repaving. What happened?

Gezzss, get on with it. Most paving crews would have paved there way to Kansas City by now. Three weeks is just too long.
