Volunteers needed for golf tournament

Headquarters Counseling Center seeks volunteers to assist with the Lawrence Amateur Golf Association golf championship Thursday and Friday.

Volunteers are needed from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Volunteers will staff the registration and scorers’ tables and serve as forecaddies by spotting balls on hard-to-see holes.

Immediate needs

¢ The Society for Korean Children and Youth Studies World Conference needs 10 to 15 adults to be conversational volunteers this summer.

Volunteers will visit with the small group of participants for an hour and offer the participants an opportunity to hear English spoken by native speakers and to practice speaking English in an informal, relaxed atmosphere.

¢ The Jubilee Cafe needs volunteers to serve breakfast to the homeless from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

¢ ECKAN is looking for volunteers to help with the food bank, bagging food and office work. The organization also needs drivers who can deliver once a month.
