Vaccine action

To the editor:

On June 4, I attended the Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey “Green our Vaccines” rally in Washington, D.C., with two of my sons, Philip and Kyle. We marched for their vaccine-injured brother, Adam, with over 8,500 parents, grandparents and friends. Starting at the Washington Monument, we marched down Independence Avenue to the steps of the Capitol to ask our elected leaders to stop representing the vaccine makers and represent the chronically ill children with vaccine injuries.

With the aggressive vaccine schedule of the ’90s, that increased the mercury-containing vaccines by 300 percent, we have traded the long-term health of our children for prevention of childhood disease that those over 40 years old survived while strengthening our immune systems. We continue to be told that the mercury is out, but check the FDA’s Web site. There are still over 10 children’s vaccines with a full 25 micrograms of mercury. All science agrees that mercury is a neurotoxic poison.

The CDC, FDA and the AAP continue to ignored the pleas of parents to look at vaccine safety. Tests on toxins in vaccines and combining of multiple vaccines on the same day have never been done. It is time to stand up and hold our elected officials accountable. Reps. Boyda and Tiahrt and Sens. Roberts and Brownback have a grade of F; Rep. Moore, C-minus, and Moran, D-minus, for their poor support of legislation for children with autism.
