Treanor Architects, Lawrence, in association with Cannon Design, received an Education Design Showcase Grand Prize for the design of a building at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.

The award recognizes projects, solutions and designs for education in a competition conducted by two magazines, School Planning & Management and College Planning & Management.

The honor was given for the design of the Life Sciences Innovation Center, a biomedical research facility that houses about 300 physicians, scientists and students who collaborate on research in such areas as liver disease, reproductive sciences, neuroscience and diabetes.
