Reports of an overturned boat on Clinton Lake turned out to be false Tuesday night, and a missing teenage girl was found safe, although reportedly intoxicated.

Douglas County sheriff’s officers responded to a call at Bloomington Beach before 10 p.m. Tuesday. Four teens in the area reported that one of their group was missing.

Search and rescue teams, including a helicopter, were requested to help look for a boat, but nothing was in the water, sheriff’s officers said, and all requests were canceled.

The teenage girl was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
