since the location is too far of a walk for Merrill from Prospect Ave, then there must NOT be a need for it.

Some in that neighborhood tried to block the things that have been built there already.
I drive by there all the time (right by there) and the only thing I see, are a few older folks going for a short stroll. Some even have little dogs. It adds a nice touch.
The traffic from the apartments on the e/w street, just go out by the roundabout, and don't interfere with anything. I don't see many people coming and going from there at all, while I know they do live there.
It's just not a traffic problem.

Ah, some more minimum wage jobs for Lawrence citizens, at the expense of local business owners. The JohnsonCountification of Lawrence is almost complete.
