Firm promotes Lawrence resident

Betty Click, Lawrence, is being promoted to senior vice president for human resources at Collective Brands Inc., the Topeka-based parent company of Payless ShoeSource.
The company announced Thursday that its board of directors had elected Click to the post, effective Aug. 3. She will take over for Jay Lentz, who is retiring.
Click joined Payless in 2002 as vice president for human relations solutions, and in 2005 became vice president for human relations operations and learning and development.
Collective Brands was formed last year with the combination of Payless, Collective Licensing International and The Stride Rite Corp.
