Jake Green said, sure, he could catch the second game, too.
Shaun Edmondson knew better, and the Raiders Legion baseball coach used Green as the designated hitter instead.
"He's a tough kid," Edmondson said of his regular backstop. "Jake said he could catch, but I can read his body language and his eyes."
Green, who has been battling a back injury for about three weeks, doubled in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh as the Raiders nipped the K.C. Barnstormers, 6-5, on Wednesday night at Ice Field.
The Raiders also captured the nightcap with a two-out hit - a single to center by Hunter Scheib that produced a 12-11 victory.
"I'm not sure when I did it," Green said of his bad back. "I think I did it lifting weights. When I sit around, it tightens up and it hurts."
As the DH in the second game, Green was 1-for-2 with a walk for the Raiders (24-15).
