Jeff Peterson of the financial services firm Edward Jones in Lawrence has achieved the professional designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist.

Peterson successfully completed a professional education program through the Denver-based College for Financial Planning. Requirements for receiving the AAMS designation are completing the program, passing a final exam and signing a code of ethics and disclosure form.

AAMS training includes study topics ranging from understanding the asset management process to understanding asset allocation and strategies.
