Law enforcement report

¢ A 17-year-old Lansing boy died in a vehicle accident June 30, according to a report provided Wednesday by the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Jake Walkup was believed to be attempting to turn his 1986 Pontiac Trans Am around on a narrow gravel road on 151st Street, north of Hillside Road. According to the report, the vehicle stopped working, rolled backward and down a steep embankment. The report states that Walkup either tried to prevent the vehicle from rolling or was unable to get out of the way as the vehicle struck a tree, where he was caught between the vehicle and the tree.

¢ Lawrence police issued a citation to a 51-year-old transient man who allegedly exposed a part of his body and performed an illegal act on a porch in plain view of a 75-year-old Lawrence woman. The incident occurred between 7:05 a.m. and 7:29 a.m. June 27 at a central Lawrence residence. The man was issued a notice to appear in court for indecent exposure.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 19-year-old Lawrence man reported a vehicle window was broken and an Alpine stereo was stolen between June 16 and June 30 in the 4000 block of West Sixth Street. The estimated loss was $1,600.

¢ A FedEx employee reported a delivery scanner valued at $1,600 was stolen June 26.

¢ A 30-year-old Lawrence man reported a Bosch trim router, Dewalt orbital sander and several other items were stolen between June 26 and June 27 in the 2100 block of Massachusetts Street. The estimated loss is $1,490.

Condition Reports

¢ The condition of Andrew Craig, 28, Overbrook, was unavailable Wednesday from Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., because of privacy laws. Craig was severely injured in a one-car accident Sunday on mile marker 202 of the Kansas Turnpike.
