City band concert canceled

Lawrence City Band has canceled its concert for Wednesday night.
Duane Peterson, special events supervisor for the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, said the "Star-Spangled Spectacular" has been called off because Douglas County is under a severe thunderstorm warning.

klwn had the word at 7p.m.! wish they had made the cancelation sooner! we were very much looking forward to this concert! but if they have to cancel a little more notice would help RE plans and getting their. how many were alrady in the park at 7 waiting for the band, cooking on their little cookers, etc.? good storm now, seems most has passed…just as i write that more hail comes!

well, the *watch' was up about 6;20pm and about that time a nasty storm was warned for in osage county. dunno why they didn't cancel then! yeah, we didn't leave home.
