Chabon, Walls among series’ speakers

Kansas University announced the 2008-2009 schedule for the Hall Center for the Humanities Lecture Series.
All lectures are open to the public and begin at 7:30 p.m. Several speakers will take part in a public discussion the morning following their lectures.
¢ Susan Estrich, legal scholar and Fox News commentator, first female president of the Harvard Law Review and youngest woman to be tenured at Harvard Law School, Sept. 23, Kansas Union's Woodruff Auditorium.
¢ Michael Chabon, author of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay," Oct. 27, Kansas Union Ballroom.
¢ Jeannette Walls, author of the New York Times best-selling memoir "The Glass Castle," Nov. 18, Woodruff Auditorium.
¢ Anthony Corbeill, KU professor of classics, Feb. 5, Kansas Union's Alderson Auditorium.
¢ James McBride, award-winning writer, composer and saxophonist, Feb. 24, Woodruff Auditorium.
¢ Dipesh Chakrabarty, Lawrence A. Kimptonp Distinguished Service Professor in History, South Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago, April 20, Woodruff Auditorium.
