The Links proposal on commission agenda

A proposed northwest Lawrence apartment complex that would include a nine-hole golf course is up for approval at tonight’s City Commission meeting.

Commissioners will consider annexation and rezoning requests for The Links at Lawrence, an 80-acre development a half-mile north of Sixth Street west of Queens Road. The development would feature 40 multi-family dwelling units built around a golf course that apartment residents would be able to play without greens fees. The course also may be open to the public on a limited basis.

Both the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission and the city’s planning staff are recommending approval of the project.

Commissioners meet at 6:35 tonight at City Hall, Sixth and Massachusetts streets.
