$60,000 anonymously given for Habitat home

Thanks to an anonymous gift from a Lawrence couple, Edye Cable and her family will receive a new home through Lawrence Habitat for Humanity.

A $60,000 donation will finish Lawrence Habitat’s 69th house. This spring, the family will be able to move into the home, which is in the Comfort Neighborhood in North Lawrence.

“This amazing gift has enabled us to build, with the Cable family, a new house filled with new hope,” said Jeremy Hahn, director of Lawrence Habitat for Humanity.

Since the agency’s inception in 1989, 68 homes have been completed in Lawrence, housing nearly 163 adults and children with the help of more than 3,000 volunteers.
