Pinnacle Technology lands NIH grant

Pinnacle Technology Inc. recently received a $879,289 grant from the National Institutes of Health-National Institute for Mental Health, in partnership with Kansas University, to focus on development of a new tool to simultaneously measure brain activity and glucose concentrations.

Commercial applications for the project include sleep research, behavioral research and drug screening.

The Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant is intended to help spur development of the tool, focused on a market that includes at least 40 million Americans who suffer each year from chronic, long-term sleep disorders and an additional 20 million who experience occasional sleeping problems.

Pinnacle Technology is a research and development company dedicated to developing new tools in the biomedical arena and industrial control systems.
