To the editor:
The author of the editorial “Troublesome tactic” on the search warrant seeking to access the Journal-World computer files (Journal-World, Jan. 8) is absolutely right in saying this violates the First Amendment.
He/she does not, however, identify the federal law referred to by District Attorney Charles Branson, whose office approved the warrant. Whether it is the Patriot Act or some other federal law, it should be changed to prevent violations of the First Amendment.
