Stop whining

To the editor:

The great thing about Kansas University being selected for the Orange Bowl over a more deserving Missouri squad was that KU fans quit whining about “The Border WAR” being played at Arrowhead in Kansas City. Yes, everyone wanted Lew Perkins’ head on a platter. (Last time I checked the university owned the team.) Local businesses encouraging season ticket holders to boycott. What arrogance! I am boycotting those businesses.

Now their gripe is with the AP poll. The poll actually got it right (something the BCS seems incapable of). Aqib Talib is right; be grateful for a great season! As for Anthony Collins, if you are upset, why don’t you stick around and help out next year? I’m sure Jayhawk Nation is tired of hearing about “strength of schedule.” Well, next year, when KU plays a much more difficult one, maybe it will sink in.

KU fans should hold their heads up high and be proud of a fantastic season! KU is fortunate to have a great human being and coach in Mark Mangino. Coach Mangino did what a great coach does, he got the maximum out of his squad. He truly earned all of the accolades that have come his way. None of this would have been possible without Lew Perkins either. So come Jayhawk Nation, stop your whining!
