The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation is hosting a fundraiser that includes a prom fashion show and self-defense class.

Lawrence High School’s National Honor Society is taking part in the project.

The foundation was founded by Roger and Kathy Kemp in honor of their daughter, Ali, who was murdered in 2002 in Leawood. TAKE promotes volunteerism and increasing safety awareness for young girls and women.

The fashion show, including students at LHS, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Blvd. A $5 donation can be made in advance at Natalie M.’s, 12601 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park. After the runway show, the two-hour TAKE Defense Training Program will start.
