Bank generates $2,000 for Toys for Tots

Bankers at Douglas County Bank organized several fundraisers during the past three months, collecting a total of $2,001 for Toys for Tots.

Adrienne Boyd-Akers, a financial services representative at the bank’s downtown headquarters, coordinated the efforts that included a bake sale, an evening at Carlos O’Kelly’s – during which the restaurant donated 15 percent of all sales – a jeans day and cash contributions from customers, employees and the bank itself.

Employees and customers also donated toys and stocking stuffers, and bankers assisted at the Toys for Tots Store before Christmas, helping people select toys for their children.

Each quarter, bank employees plan and initiate fundraising efforts for a local charity. This quarter’s efforts will benefit Habitat for Humanity.
