Thanks for help
To the editor:
I want to commend the Lawrence Fire Department for the excellent encounter I had the morning of New Year’s Day. My wife and I were house-sitting for our son who lives in Lawrence when during the early morning hours, the fire alarms in the house went off. I checked the house very quickly but didn’t detect any smoke or fire. However, to be safe, I did call 911 and told the operator that I didn’t have an emergency, but I thought I should have it checked out and he agreed.
The fire engine arrived shortly thereafter, and I was greeted by four firemen. These gentlemen were very friendly and professional. They did a thorough job of checking the house out for smoke and carbon monoxide.
Lawrence should be exceptionally proud and pleased with people of this caliber. Please convey our deepest appreciation.
