Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police are investigating a possible aggravated robbery and assault that occurred at 5:21 p.m. Sunday at Holcom Sports Complex, 2700 W. 27th St.

Two 15-year-old boys said they were approached by a man who pointed a handgun at them. Two other men knocked one of the boys down and struck him while taking two cell phones and a jacket from him, police were told. Police recovered the stolen items and returned them to the boy. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. No arrests have been made.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Someone broke into Naughty But Nice, 1741 Mass., on the night of Dec. 25, according to a Lawrence police report. Police later found clothing and sexual novelty items discarded at the intersection of Legends Drive and Research Park Drive, leading them to check stores that sell such items, according to a police spokeswoman. The front window glass to Naughty But Nice had been knocked out. More than $1,100 of merchandise had been taken, the report stated.

¢ A credit card belonging to Kaw Valley Center, 1202 E. 23rd St., was used to make three illegal purchases for a total of $3,645. Purchases were made in June, July and October, according to police reports.

Injury accidents

¢ A 51-year-old Lawrence woman was injured in a one-car accident and taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. The incident occurred at 7:15 p.m. According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, the woman, Noreen Fonkert, was a passenger in a 1998 BMW. The car, driven by a 70-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man, was eastbound on Kansas Highway 32. The driver swerved to miss a dog near 161st Street, left the roadway, struck a guardrail and went into a ditch. Fonkert remained in the emergency room at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, but her condition was unknown.
