Bird Physical Therapy and MartinLogan Inc. are among nominees for a Northeast Kansas Business Ethics Award, sponsored by the Northeast Kansas Society of Financial Service Professionals in recognition of companies that embody and demonstrate high standards of ethical behavior in their everyday operations, philosophies, and in response to crises and challenges.

The Lawrence companies are among five companies nominated in the small business category. The other finalists are from Topeka: Appelhanz Roofing & Guttering Inc., Custom Neon & Vinyl Graphics Inc. and Rose Villa Inc.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas is the lone nominee in the mid-sized company category.

Winners will be determined through judging by the Washburn University School of Business and Washburn’s Small Business Development Coordination Center.

Winners will be nominees for the annual Business Ethics Award, to be given later this year by the National Society of Financial Service Professionals.
