Lawrence is 20 for 20 so far.

The 20 students at high schools in the city who were National Merit Scholar semifinalists have all advanced as finalists:

¢ Bishop Seabury Academy – Martin Blanchard, Erika O’Shea and Brooke Sutherland.

¢ Free State High School – Justine Ahle, Cori Allen, Laura Drees, Kate Falkenstien, Joshua Frederick, Raquel Gonzalez, Maxwell Gregoire, Mitchell Haverty, Clara Kundin and Anthony Twarog.

¢ Lawrence High School – Xander Casad, Lin Chen, Yoshika Crider, Stephanie Drahozal, Stephanie Jian and Erin Thimmesch.

¢ Veritas Christian School – Michael Penny.

Nationally, about 15,000 students are finalists. They will compete for 8,200 Merit Scholarship Awards.
