Jan Kuyper Erland, executive director of Innovative Learning Systems Inc., a nonprofit, Lawrence-based national literacy organization, announces a new partner in its ongoing partnership with Lawrence public schools through the Lawrence Education Achievement Partners program.

Students Tutoring for Literacy organization, part of Kansas University’s Center for Community Outreach, has joined the effort that recruits retired teachers and others to be volunteers assisting with literacy efforts in classrooms at Prairie Park School.

Kuyper Erland also serves as literacy chairperson for The Daughters of the American Revolution.
