Lawrence Memorial Hospital will be host to a free educational program, “Fish Oil for a Healthy Heart and Brain,” on Thursday.

Michael Zabel, a cardiologist with Cardiovascular Consultants, will present the program, which will emphasize the importance of consuming omega-3 fatty acids. He’ll discuss information about the acids and how they improve the quality of life.

There will also be a presentation on the work of Stephen Ilardi, an associate professor of clinical psychology at Kansas University, regarding the effects of fish oil on brain function.

The program is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the hospital’s auditorium, 325 Maine.
