To the editor:
First Steve Jansen, then Rebecca Phipps. Who will the Watkins Museum hire - and fire! - next?
What do they want in a director? A highly trained professional with a mastery of his/her field, a hard-working, personable person with management skills and the ability to work with people and to interest the nonhistory-minded in history? Obviously not. Then what?
And have these needs and requirements been made clear to those they hire? It's so easy to fire someone, so hard - maybe impossible - to undo the harm done.
