Dart tournament, chili cook-off slated for today

The Red Lyon Tavern, 944 Mass., will host a dart tournament and chili cook-off today as local St. Patrick’s Day festivities ramp up.

The chili cook-off also is set for today. All entries are welcome. Cook-off participants should have their chili ready by 2 p.m. for judging. The dart tourney fee, which includes unlimited chili, is $10 per player. The general fee for unlimited chili is $5.

The festivities continue Sunday with the sixth annual Irish Pub Quiz, which will benefit the Social Service League of Douglas County and the County Fair Swim Club. Team registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the game starts at 7 p.m. at Zig and Mac’s, 1540 Wakarusa Drive. Organizers suggest a tax-deductible donation of $100 per team.
