Last Call circus
To the editor:
This is a college town. This ain’t Dodge City and the OK Corral. If the city manager and commissioners can’t stop the Last Call circus, then I’m sure nearby property owners – Bo Harris, Pachamama’s, etc. – would be more than happy to form a vigilante group and put a stop to this nonsense.
Who wants a $450,000 condo or a $2 million restaurant next to where you’ve got to dodge bullets and run for cover? Wyatt Earp, where are you? We need a posse.
Send Dennis Steffes to Shawnee County or Kansas City, Kan., where his patrons come from. Let them have the hip-hop. I’m rock ‘n’ roll. I’m Lawrence. Elvis and Mr. Steffes need to leave the building.
Hey, city manager and commissioners, as a person with a law degree, don’t worry about what’s legal and what’s not. This is serious. I don’t want to go downtown, and I’m not the Lone Ranger. Clean it up. NOW. Your first call should be to rid Lawrence of the Last Call. That’s all.
Dennis Barritt,
Lawrence
