Lawrence grad student places in OU contest

Jackie Dubois Miller, Lawrence, was part of a team that finished in second place among graduate students in the University of Oklahoma Michael F. Price College of Business’ inaugural Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the college’s Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.

Dubois joined fellow student Will Lightfoot in coming up with Flash Alert, a new lightning-detection system for the media market.

Competitors were judged for the quality of their written plans; market opportunities and distinctive competencies; industry analyses; and management capabilities, risk factors and structures.

Cash prizes were awarded.
