Classes to focus on weather safety

The National Weather Service in Topeka and Douglas County Emergency Management will be host to the 2008 “Weather 101” class at four locations between March and April:

¢ March 6, 7 p.m.-9 p.m.: Eudora Recreational Center, 1630 Elm St.

¢ March 20, 7 p.m.-9 p.m.: Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H.

¢ March 27, 7 p.m.-9 p.m.: Baldwin Elementary School (Intermediate Center), 100 Bullpup Drive.

¢ April 3, 7 p.m.-9 p.m.: Lecompton City Hall, 327 Elmore.

The program is free and open to the public. It will provide information about severe thunderstorm development and discuss severe weather safety.

Hazard radios with on-site programming will be available for $30.

Refreshments will be provided by Paul Davis Restoration.
